Yesterday was school just like an ordinary day. But after school we had a soccer match against some Canadian school. Sadly ( or luckily) me, ash n Yong Kiat went for some goalkeepers' training at Jalan Besar Stadium.
(Scene change to Jalan Besar Stadium)
The stadium ther damn shok man!!! carpet grass damn nice but u boots keep on getting dirty. My grp was trained by 2 Young Lions goalkeepers. WE learnt scoop, cup, chest ball, high ball n diving. For the first few exercise we got David Lee to help us!!! He is damn pro man. That uy was one of singapore ex-internationals n one of the best Singaporean goalkeepers (i tink). Then I learnt some better ways on how to keep the ball. The program was quite usefully I can say.
(Scene change back to school field)
The school decides to play HAri as goalkeeper. They won 3-1 in the end!!! Quite god considering that we were thrashed by the same batch of ppl 8-1 previously. ( i hope u all do not I was the keeper in that match). Ahmed scored a hat-trick in the match.
Well thats all for yesterday.
Today school was similar to the previous day just that today's match I had missed it. Becos of maths remedial I got released when they were in half-time. So the coach said its ok if I do not play. They lost the match 2-0 which if im not wrong by both of Ash's blunders. ITs ok. We keepers need to get adjusted and some more the pitch was wet. The remdial was crazy I was doing the same wksht for 1 n half hours. Well thats all for today.

P.S. I nvr knew that so many people watched us plae soccer. (not bad building soccer fan club in NUS High already)

Came home late today. It had looked as though the Reds had won it. Cristiano Ronado capped off an excellent second-half display from United, finishing off a fine move to make it 2-1. Then Gallas intervened late on.

Sir Alex Ferguson made two changes to the side that thrashed Middlesbrough with recalls for Ryan Giggs and Patrice Evra, who had missed the Boro win through injury. The Reds boss also had significant options on the bench; Louis Saha and Michael Carrick were both back in the frame after knee and elbow injuries respectively. Tomasz Kuszczak, Nani and John O’Shea took up the remaining sub spots.

Arsene Wenger, meanwhile, stuck with the same eleven that earned a point at Anfield last weekend. Both sides went into the game in top form - the Gunners unbeaten with six league wins out of six on their own patch, while United boasted eight consecutive league victories.

The game began at a frantic pace as both sides took time to settle. Arsenal’s created the first chance after on 10 minutes after Gael Clichy fired in a cross that Emmanuel Adebayor headed off target. A minute later, Carlos Tevez fired an effort wide of Manuel Almunia’s right-hand post after a fizzed centre from Ryan Giggs.

Arsenal wanted a penalty on 15 minutes when Aleksandr Hleb went under a challenge from Nemanja Vidic. Referee Howard Webb waved away the Gunners’ appeals.

Two minutes later Ryan Giggs, making his 37th appearance against Arsenal, poked the ball just wide after an excellent break from United and a fine cross from Ronaldo. The Reds’ skipper fired an effort just over the bar soon after, picking up Tevez’s deflected knock down before turning and hitting it first time.

Part of United’s game plan was to allow Arsenal possession and play on the counter-attack, with the Reds’ backline and midfield duo of Anderson and Owen Hargreaves standing firm.

Arsenal’s possession percentage continued to grow as the half drew to a close and their best chance of the opening period arrived on 36 minutes as Fabregas whipped in a free kick as Gallas stooped in front of Patrice Evra to head the ball goalwards. Edwin van der Sar saved well with his legs as United’s travelling army breathed a sigh of relief.

But, United were to have the first meaningful say of the match, and the last of the first half. Having gone so close at one end to scoring, at the other Gallas got the final touch as the Reds took the lead. Wes Brown shrugged off a challenge from Hleb, before sliding the ball forward to Ronaldo, who in fired a perfect low cross. Rooney darted to the front post and clipped a shot goalwards, but in trying to reach the Reds striker’s shot he diverted the ball past Almunia. The perfect time to score. Advantage United.

After a cagey opening 45 the game burstinto life three minutes after the restart. Having looked so solid in defence during the first half, United found themselves stretched for the first time in the match and it led to Arsenal's equaliser. Van der Sar bravely blocked Adebayor’s effort and as the ball ran loose, Bacary Sagna was quickest to react slotting the ball into Fabregas’ path. The Spaniard picked his spot and fired into the bottom corner.

United weathered the Arsenal storm and began to look increasingly like the team that would snatch a winner in a tightly poised game. Rooney went close on 64 minutes after a one-two with Giggs, after latching on to the Welshman’s cross, the striker was unable to guide his header on target.

Rooney flicked a ball through to Evra soon after but the Frenchman's cut-back eluded Ronaldo, who was unable to get there in front of a cluster of Arsenal defenders. Ronaldo was not to be denied eight minutes from time, however, as United snatched the lead once more. Saha, on for Tevez, slid a superb ball into the onrushing Evra who crossed brilliantly for Ronaldo to simply slot the ball home.

But the drama wasn’t over. As the game entered injury time the Gunners grabbed a point through Gallas, who guided the ball home brilliantly from a tight angle. Van der Sar looked to have saved it, but the eagle-eyed officials spotted that the Dutchman was behind his line when he palmed the ball clear. It was a deflating moment for the Reds who were so close to avenging the loss to Thierry Henry’s late goal last season.

Arsenal’s celebrations after the final whistle belied the fact that they hadsecured only a point. But United should not be too disheartened, the performance earned a point and made one, it could prove vital in the months to come.

Preview of Manchester United and Dyanmo Kiev

On the 21st anniversary of his arrival at Old Trafford, Sir Alex Ferguson underlined his optimism about Manchester United FC's prospects of further European success under him, stressing that they "can go far" in this season's UEFA Champions League.

'All the way'
United go into their fixture with FC Dynamo Kyiv knowing a fourth straight victory in Group F would guarantee a place in the last 16, yet Sir Alex, who led United to the 1999 continental crown, is looking further ahead. "I really believe we are capable of going all the way," he said in his programme notes, and the Scot continued the theme when he told reporters: "At this moment in time I am very positive about that. I think this team can go far."

So far, so good
It is certainly so far so good for United whose 2-2 draw at Arsenal FC on Saturday kept them joint-top of the Premier League and who, with a win here, would achieve their best start to a UEFA Champions League campaign since 2002/03. With that aim Sir Alex, who could recall Michael Carrick, spoke of the "incentive" to continue the European legacy of Sir Matt Busby, whose longevity – a 24-year reign as United manager – he could yet surpass. "That's the real link I have got with Sir Matt in terms of the years I have spent here – 21 years have been about achieving, about entertaining and about meeting the demands of the modern game," added the 65-year-old, for whom the only cloud on the horizon seems the calf problem that has postponed Gary Neville's comeback.

Luzhny challenge
At the other end of the scale from Sir Alex in terms of age and experience is the visitors' 39-year-old caretaker coach, Oleh Luzhny. With Joszef Szabó sidelined by a heart complaint after last weekend's 1-0 home defeat by FC Metalist Kharkiv, Luzhny has taken charge for an indefinite period and the first challenge for the former Arsenal defender could not be more daunting. "I remember playing here and I think Manchester United are one of the best teams in the world," he said.

Rebrov recall
As a player, Luzhny's debut in England with Arsenal was a 2-1 victory over United in the 1999 Community Shield but he was also on the receiving end of a 6-1 drubbing at Old Trafford in February 2001. While he will expect to avoid a repeat of the latter ordeal, overall the omens are not good for Dynamo. Beaten 4-2 by United in Kiev, they sit bottom of Group F without a point and will be eliminated if they pick up fewer points here than second-placed AS Roma manage against Sporting Clube de Portugal. Luzhny is without Maksim Shatskikh and Valentin Belkevich, latest additions to Dynamo's injury list, yet could recall the fit-again Serhiy Rebrov and may give a UEFA Champions League debut to Oleh Dopilka, following the young defender's domestic bow against Metalist. "There will be some changes but I cannot talk about them right now because what can we change in two or three days? There is not enough time," said Luzhny.
<img width='1' height='1' I am so happy. There are 3 main reasons and i shall talk about each one of them> I am sooooooooooooooooo happy that my fever has been cured. Ive got no more headaches and can drink cold water again.
First reason-> Manchester United just pwned Middelsborg 4-1. So I am dammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmn happy n he is my report on their victory.

Middlesbrough have traditionally held something of a hoodoo over United at Old Trafford, but even they had no answer to another vibrant attacking display from Sir Alex Ferguson's side.

Goals from Nani, Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez (twice) invalidated an early equaliser from Jeremie Aliadiere and put United on top of the Barclays Premier League, ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Liverpool on Sunday.

Following on from convincing victories over Wigan, Aston Villa and Dynamo Kyiv, the scoreline also marked a fourth-consecutive four-goal haul, equalling a club record set back in the 1907/08 season.

The only noteworthy change to Sir Alex Ferguson’s line-up saw Owen Hargreaves return for only his fourth United appearance, his first taste of action since the victory over Sunderland on September 1.

Whereas Boro traditionally come to Old Trafford with a stifling approach clearly at the fore, Gareth Southgate’s 4-4-2 formation suggested the potential for an open game, and Nani's early goal bore that out in style.

Just three minutes had passed when he picked the ball up on the left flank, just inside the Boro half. The Portuguese winger beat three defenders, cut inside and sent goalwards a scorching 30-yard drive which arced over the flailing Schwarzer.

Less than two minutes later, Tevez could have doubled the Reds’ lead. The Argentine striker was sent clean through, but his attempt to lift the ballover Schwarzer was thwarted by the Australian stopper.

United would rue that miss moments later as the visitors drew level. Turkish striker Tuncay, who scored a hat-trick for Fenerbahce in his last appearance against the Reds, did superbly to outfox John O’Shea and send in a cross, which Aliadiere glanced in off van der Sar’s far post.

The Turk proved troublesome again after 24 minutes, curling in another fine cross which Stewart Downing headed wastefully past the far post. Boro were by no means bossing the game, but they were certainly proving a handful on the counter-attack.

United, as per, were enjoying the lion’s share of possession, and responded to Downing’s near-miss with one of their own, as Ronaldo latched onto Rooney’s pass and sent a left-footed shot skidding just past Schwarzer’s post.

Downing was heavily involved again as United retook the lead after 32 minutes. The England international dwelled on the ball inside his own area and, as he attempted to pass clear, Nani nicked the ball to Rooney, who hammered a shot past Schwarzer and in.

The Australian was called into action again moments later as United sought to extend their lead. A spell of heavy pressure ended with O’Shea sliding the ball back to Ronaldo, whose low sidefooted effort was held just in front of the line.

United seemed liberated by the chance to savour their advantage, and they continued to pile the pressure on Boro’s goal, coming agonizingly close to scoring a third in first-half injury time.

A defensive slip allowed Rooney, Tevez and Ronaldo to break against just one Boro defender, but Rooney’s overhit pass to Tevez was half-cleared to Nani. In the ensuing melee, the winger’s cross fell invitingly to Ronaldo, but the ball merely bounced off him and ricocheted straight to Schwarzer.

The lead stayed at just the one goal going into the break, but it could easily have been extended further within a minute of the restart as Tevez fed Rooney, but the England striker could only fire narrowly over the crossbar with a diagonal shot.

Much had been made of the burgeoning English-Argentine partnership upfront after their prominent role against Aston Villa and Dynamo Kyiv, and they combined again to devastating effect to put United 3-1 ahead.

Tevez flicked a long ball straight to Rooney and continued his run into the box. The Argentine then slipped below Boro's radar as he crept into the box, but Rooney was able to find him with a sumptuous back-heel, which teed up a simple slid finish.

Parallels have been drawn between the infamous Cole-Yorke partnership and the current Tevez-Rooney pairing of late, and this goal was the most glaring sign of similarity yet. The duo’s interplay immediately evoked memories of Cole’s much-heralded 1998 goal against Barcelona, scored with similarly intuitive front-play.

With a two-goal lead established, Sir Alex opted to bring on Darren Fletcher and Gerard Pique for some much-needed playing time, as they replaced Hargreaves and Ferdinand respectively, while Ryan Giggs replaced Anderson. There was no disruption to United’s attacking flow, however, and they grabbed a fourth goal with five minutes remaining.

Rooney broke from deep inside his own half and left Cattermole trailing in his wake before picking out Tevez, who cut inside and, although his goal-bound shot struck Taylor’s arm, it bounced down into the ground and past the hapless Schwarzer.

And with that, United had equalled a century-old record and moved to the top of the Premier League table, with a tantalising trip to title rivals Arsenal looming next weekend.

Yup so that's my brief report on Manchester United's victory.

2nd reason: I just finished watching 1 n a half hours of Scooby Doo. He owned the bad guys in Scooby Doo and the monster of Mexico. And there are 2 more shows of Scooby Doo today in Cartoon Network. Cartoon Network have started to get more brains I msut admit.

3rd reason: tampines Rovers drew with SAFFC 1-1 n are 2 points below them with a game in hand. Whoo Hoo. Thhe're gonna win the S-league year. i Bet you that. here is the report on the match.

Mirko Grabovac had the last laugh in the duel of the Methuselahs on Saturday evening, as a late Tampines Rovers goal forced a 1-1 draw with league title rivals SAFFC.

The result kept Tampines within two points of the defending champions with a game in hand, as the balance of the championship race began to tilt in the Stags’ favour.

Aleksandar Duric, all of 37 years old, had struck nine minutes before the break to give his team an advantage that had come against the run of play.

But former Warriors star Grabovac, himself just a year younger at 36, capped a hardworking display with an assist for Aliff Shafaein to equalize eight minutes from time.

Tampines had come into this match without seven of their senior players, three of whom had been ruled out through suspension and injury.

Making things even tougher for Vorawan Chitavanich was the absence of four Singapore internationals, who could not be released for club duty as the Lions’ World Cup qualifier against Palestine 24 hours later remained in limbo following the visitors’ AWOL show.

Compared to Vorawan’s woes, SAFFC coach Richard Bok seemed to face fewer problems as Razif Mahamud, Hafiz Osman and Aidil Sharin slotted into the side to replace Daniel Bennett, Faizal Abdul Hamid and John Wilkinson respectively.

Norikazu Murakami was meanwhile restored to the starting eleven, after being cup-tied in the Warriors’ RHB Singapore Cup victory over Woodlands Wellington last week.

Despite the advantage Bok’s men seemed to have on paper, though, both teams remained very evenly matched right from the kickoff.

Young striker Ahmed Fahmie, filling in for Singapore goal ace Noh Alam Shah, was denied a chance in the 7th minute by SAFFC custodian Shahril Jantan, before Rafi Ali robbed Therdsak Chaiman of a clear shot on goal at the other end less than a minute later.

It did not take long for the 3,078 fans to realize, though, that the hosts were taking a rather rushed approach to the match, compared to the aggressive but calm demeanour shown by their opponents.

Whether it was because Tampines had won the two corresponding fixtures earlier this year was anybody’s guess, but it was clear that the apparently weaker team was holding the psychological advantage over the title holders.

Indeed, the Stags looked the more convincing title contender of the two, and could have gone ahead in the first half but for some disappointing ball control by Fahmie and Aliff.

Instead, it was SAFFC who claimed the lead in the 36th minute, and unsurprisingly the goal bore the name of runaway league top-scorer Duric.

The burly striker, who had missed a call-up by Radojko Avramovic as his new Singapore passport would only be ready for collection on Monday, had received a good low pass from Murakami, but fumbled with his initial control as he had his back facing goal.

Ibrahim Noh’s failure to immediately close Duric down, however, allowed the latter to turn around and send in a shot, and by the time Rezal Hassan realized what was coming, it was too late for him to keep the ball out of the net.

Duric was ecstatic to have broken a three-match goal drought, but credit really had to go to Murakami, who ran about everywhere in an effort to invigorate his tense teammates.

Kenji Arai too did a generally fine job at the back to soothe the Warriors’ nerves, but Therdsak, the team’s final foreigner, looked well below his best as a niggling hamstring injury prevented him from exerting his usual commanding influence.

Inevitably, the Thai had to be taken off at the interval, and with him went SAFFC’s ability to dictate play in the centre of the park.

Smelling blood in the air, the Stags exerted much pressure along the flanks, and they could have pulled level many times but for some resolute work by the Warriors backline.

Twice Fahmie worked his way into a shooting position on the left side of the box, but Shahril saved the 20-year-old’s first try before forcing him to chip high with his second.

Sutee Suksomkit then saw his 64th-minute lob from the right flank go over the crossbar as well, before Arai stepped in to deny both Aliff and Fahmie a few minutes later.

But as Aliff and Grabovac got closer and closer with their subsequent shots, and Sead Muratovic saw a 79th-minute free kick saved, a Tampines goal seemed a matter of time.

The critical moment finally came in the 82nd minute, as a double save from Shahril and Arai saw the duo stay down as Grabovac picked the ball up on the right side of the box.

Looking up and spotting Aliff in a better scoring position, the Stags No.10 unselfishly teed the ball in-between the two Warriors, and the diminutive forward made no mistake.

The goal sparked wild celebrations among the players, nearly all of whom mobbed Aliff. Grabovac, however, had something else in mind as he rushed towards the away fans section at Choa Chu Kang, screaming in near-delirium.

And there could well be more joy for the Tampines faithful to savour at the end of the season, as Grabovac and his colleagues took what could be a key step towards the title.

Grabovac: Character will win title for Stags

Veteran striker Mirko Grabovac hailed his Tampines Rovers teammates’ ‘character’ after holding SAFFC to a 1-1 draw – and boldly predicted his team would go on to unseat the Warriors as S.League champions.

The 36-year-old gave his remarks following a fierce display from the Stags, who were missing over a third of their senior squad for this match.

Despite the apparent handicap, Tampines played out a more organized game and often looked the more threatening of the two, leading Grabovac to praise his teammates for rising to the challenge.

“We showed today that we may not be at our best, but we still have the character we needed to win,” he commented after the match.

“That was what senior players like Nazri (Nasir), Rafi (Ali) and I told the youngsters. We already knew one month ago that we had to do without our best players for this game, but we had to come here and show we have the character.

“I’m very happy that we showed that here today. It felt very special for me to see the team do it here against SAFFC.

“I’ve played with them for five years (before joining Tampines), and I will never forget the good memories. But now I am confident that we have what it takes to win all the games we have left; nobody is going to stop us from winning this year’s title!”

Stags coach Vorawan Chitavanich was appreciative of the evergreen striker’s work throughout the match, singling out the latter’s constant reassuring influence on a team that included youngsters like Shahdan Sulaiman, Ahmed Fahmie and Kairuldin Ishak.

“Mirko did not play like a player today; he played more like an assistant coach,” he noted.

“He was there to give encouragement to the young players, and we needed him to do that today because we had many young players on the field. Four players representing the country, two suspended, Satria (Mad) injured – of course the young players had to play!

“To get a result like this was very good for the team. Of course, after Therdsak (Chaiman) came off for the other side, the game changed, but we had to work hard and take control.

“The title race is still open, even with Home (United) losing this week. But our boys showed that, even when we lose more than half our first team, the fighting spirit is still there to give a good game.”

Ya so that's the 3 reasons y I am fully recovered n out of fever.

GO RED DEVILS
GO SCOOBY DOO
GO STAGS

IM bored. Dynamo were briefly given hope when Diogo Rincón nodded in Carlos Corrêa's corner, but Ronaldo restored the two-goal cushion just before half-time. The influential Portuguese added the fourth from the penalty spot before home forward Ismaël Bangoura completed the scoring with 12 minutes remaining.
The visitors had suffered a setback before kick-off when Patrice Evra picked up an injury and was replaced by Darren Fletcher, with John O'Shea falling back to cover and the Scotsman linking up with Anderson in central midfield. The hosts had the first chance through Bangoura, back from a rib injury, testing Edwin van der Sar with a shot from the edge of the area in the opening seconds.
The English champions responded with Ronaldo particularly active but it took Sir Alex Ferguson's charges ten minutes to produce their first shot – and their first goal. Ronaldo won a free-kick near the corner flag on the left which Giggs crossed for Ferdinand to place a powerful header over Olexandr Shovkovskiy. As József Szabó's men poured forward, leaving vast spaces at the back exposed, United were clinical as they executed their opportunities on the break. One such free-flowing move down the right brought the second goal, as Rooney applied a simple finish after a pass by Wes Brown.
Rooney had a further chance to add to United's advantage several minutes later, but Shovkovskiy parried his powerful drive while Goran Gavrančić took a blow when blocking an ensuing effort from Carlos Tévez. It was all United at that point with Dynamo looking out of ideas, but just as it seemed there was no hope for them, they found their way back into the game following a set-piece.
On 34 minutes, Corrêa whipped in a corner which the unmarked Rincón nodded in. Ronaldo called Shovkovskiy back into action with a shot from acute angle yet the keeper was powerless to prevent the third United goal four minutes before the break when Ronaldo neatly headed in Giggs's cross from the left to restore the Red Devils' two-goal lead. Dynamo introduced Valentin Belkevich and Artem Milevskiy at half-time but United continued to dominate with Anderson hitting the post.
Rincón delivered another fine header from an Oleh Gusev cross which flew just wide of the post, while Anderson drew another save from Shovkovskiy. The match was effectively over on 68 minutes when Gavrančić conceded a penalty for handball which Ronaldo casually stroked in to make it 4-1. Bangoura put some respectability on the scoreline with a fierce strike from 25 metres, yet the defeat leaves the Ukrainian club without a point and facing elimination at Old Trafford in two weeks' time.

So this is my lengthy report on how Manchester United owned Dynamo Kyiv.

hello i am !< /-\ {_} $ ! !<.
